Description

Mandan Public Schools is currently seeking to hire an Occupational Therapy Aide or COTA for the 2024-2025 school year.

 

Salary: This position is full time and follows the school calendar. Benefit package included.

  • Starting wage for OT Aide is $17.85 - $20.65 (wage based on sy 23-24; sy 24-25 is yet to be determined). 
  • Starting wage for COTA is $20.02 - $22.82 (wage based on sy 23-24; sy 24-25 is yet to be determined).

Position Summary:

  • Under basic supervision of an Occupational Therapist or COTA, provides occupational therapy treatments or procedures for special needs students at MPS facilities.


Essential Functions:

  • Plans, prepares, and supports individual and group occupational therapy services and therapeutic
    activities to special needs children, according to the Individualized Education Program (IEP).
  • Documents observations and therapy results, compiles data, and maintains case
    files; prepares reports for MPS Occupational Therapist Registered/Licensed (OTR/L).
  • Supports the relationship between the Mandan Public Schools and the general public by demonstrating
    courteous and cooperative behavior when interacting with clients, visitors, and School staff; maintains
    absolute confidentiality of work-related issues, client records, and School information; follows
    compliance rules governing child abuse; performs related duties as required or assigned.
  • Monitors supplies and assessment materials.  Maintains organization of testing kits, produces requisitions for materials/testing protocols, etc. as directed by department staff.

  • Implements/assists OTR’s/COTA’s in preparation and implementation of therapeutic activities for individual, group, and push-in to the classroom therapy services.

Reports To:

  • MSSEU Special Education Director

Minimum Qualifications (COTA):

  • Associate’s Degree in Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA); AND one year of experience; OR
    an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Minimum Qualifications (Occupational Therapy Aide):

  • High School Diploma or GED
